Cafe Sahara Mediterranean Cuisine

Best Mediterranean food around! We eat here frequently. The owners are friendly and always recommend a great wine to go with your meal. Forgot to take photos when the food was delivered but still took a couple. We had the Falafel platter, wood fired chicken platter and chicken gyro. If you’re gluten free, they have lots of options and will customize by your meal.

Short version: Great Mediterranean food in pleasant surroundings. More French-looking than Greek…but they do lean into their wines too. Longer version: We were trying to get to Clearwater Beach, on Easter Saturday. Traffic had other plans and honestly, we should have known better. So we drove home…hungry and grumpy. On our way back…we passed Sahara Mediterranian and saw a packed lot. One U-turn later and we were quickly seated for a late lunch. To be honest, they did let us know that they were recovering from an unexpected rush as this was the first Easter weekend they decided to open. Service was slow…but our server, the son of the owners, was friendly and informative. We had the opportunity to have a couple of conversations with both him and the adjoining table. The food was awesome. Kim loved kafta and especially the tabouli. My Combo (chicken and gryo) wrap…outta bounds. The turmeric on the chicken did a dance with the gyro meat and sauce. Yum. I’ll give them a complete pass on the service as it was clearly an isolated incident. We will return for more. Cheers and Thanks.

We were in the area from out of town and came to eat here. We actually were going to the other restaurant originally but ended up here. I’m really glad we came here too. Our server was excellent!! Never waited on anything. She was attentive and could answer any questions we had. 5 star service! The food was great. I had the meat pie and it was fantastic! Wife had chicken platter and it was delicious too. Full of flavor! I didn’t not feel like the portions were small for the price. Honestly it was priced just right. Our experience here was great!! Will definitely come back when in the area. That being said I’m glad we came here. Super nice place too. Very clean, and really nice. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. First time here and can say I will definitely be back. The food and service was amazing. We went on a Friday at about 4pm. We were the only table there but it was great cause the server took his time explained dishes and answered all our questions. They have a wine tasting on fridays at 7pm. Will definitely be back for that. Wish we would have taken pics of food. But I was hungry and forgot lol. But had the falafel app and the gyro for my meal with a side of rice. And 2 glasses of wine. The server was amazing and gave me the bad boy wine they were serving at the tasting which was a real treat. I spent $66 (without tip)with my app dinner and 2 glasses of wine and definitely thought it was worth it.

My mother and I chose to have dinner here before a show at the 8 o’clock theatre and we were not disappointed! Sue (owner/manager) was very kind, and took the time to explain different dishes to us and make recommendations. The ambiance is great, and the food was fantastic. Mom was very pleased to have so many options for her plant based / vegan diet. We’ll be back!
